Reference-less complex wavefields characterization with a high-resolution wavefront sensor

چکیده

Wavefront sensing is a widely used non-interferometric, single-shot, and quantitative technique providing the spatial-phase of beam. The phase obtained by integrating measured wavefront gradient. Complex random wavefields intrinsically contain high density singular structures (optical vortices) associated with non-conservative gradients making this integration step especially delicate. Here, using high-resolution sensor, we demonstrate experimentally systematic approach for achieving complete reconstruction complex wavefronts. Based on Stokes' theorem, propose an image segmentation algorithm to provide accurate determination charge location optical vortices. This expected benefit several fields requiring media characterization.

Ultra-high resolution coded wavefront sensor.

Wavefront sensors and more general phase retrieval methods have recently attracted a lot of attention in a host of application domains, ranging from astronomy to scientific imaging and microscopy. In this paper, we introduce a new class of sensor, the Coded Wavefront Sensor, which provides high spatio-temporal resolution using a simple masked sensor under white light illumination. Specifically,...

High-resolution Wavefront Control Using Micromirror Arrays

Silicon deformable mirrors have the potential to modulate spatial and temporal features of an optical wavefront. This capability is critical for systems in which aberrations affect optical beam quality, including many applications in laser communication, medical imaging, astronomy, and target tracking. The main goal of the work presented here was to design, build, and test a 1024 actuator wavef...

High resolution wavefront correction with photocontrolled deformable mirror.

We demonstrate that a novel actuation scheme, employed in an optical control deformable mirror, can be more convenient than the conventional discrete fixed actuators approach. The Photo-Controlled Deformable Mirror (PCDM) mirror leverages consumer LCD display technology in the wavefront forming control, enabling flexible programmable configuration of the actuation geometry. This new approach si...

Tomographic diffractive microscopy with a wavefront sensor.

Tomographic diffractive microscopy is a recent imaging technique that reconstructs quantitatively the three-dimensional permittivity map of a sample with a resolution better than that of conventional wide-field microscopy. Its main drawbacks lie in the complexity of the setup and in the slowness of the image recording as both the amplitude and the phase of the field scattered by the sample need...
